At the heart there is Snort for IDS, an Open Source IDS software. Usage of Snort, the leading IDS engine, ensures that any intrusion attacks do not go undetected. CounterSnipe Technologies spends extensive amount of resources and funds into ensure that the Vulnerability Research signatures for Snort are always current for all our customers. Then there is the Passive Application Detection module. The Application Detection software offers maximum aid to ensuring precise IDS/IPS operation. With the detection engine always on, CounterSnipe products can immediately and continuously detect the presence of any alien machines on the network. The system always monitors the entire network for connected pcs/servers, applications and any vulnerabilities related to those applications. Thirdly there is SAK. SAK receives and compares all of the IDS attack and Application Detection information. SAK is also responsible for managing alerts information emailed to Systems Administrators. If configured correctly, SAK will ensure that there are absolutely Zero False Alerts generated with your CounterSnipe IPS. Finally there is the risk database. The risk data base contains both the Vulnerability research updates and snort signature updates. All CounterSnipe systems are kept automatically updated with the latest from our research teams. |
